New York Pops Ed Launch with Broadway's Brightest

Tonight I had the great pleasure of photographing the launch of PopsEd, the New York Pops Education Outreach program.  While the entire event was great, the most fun to be had was at the step-and-repeat!  The PopsEd Ambassadors in attendance included New Your Pops conductor Steven Reineke, Ahrens and Flaherty, Brian d'Arcy James, Laura Osnes, Santino Fontana, Jason Danieley, Ashley Brown, Aaron Lazar, Rob McClure, and Kelli O'Hara.

I'm attaching a few of my favorites below.  Hopefully they'll be picked up by one of the Broadway websites and I'll be able to post that link as well.  But for now, it's off to bed.  I start rehearsals tomorrow morning for Master Class at Music Theatre of Connecticut!

Santino Fontana and Laura Osnes at 54 Below

Tonight I was back at 54 Below, this time taking photographs for the New York Pops.  The show was a joint benefit to support the Ronald McDonald House and PopsEd, the New York Pops Educational Outreach program.

Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana, the stars of Broadway's Cinderella, headlined the event, which was hosted by the New York Pops conductor, Steven Reineke, with musical direction by Cinderella's maestro Andy Einhorn.

Since my roommate works for the Pops, I was able to attend the dress rehearsal, so I could plot out the best places to shoot, and where and when to utilize them.  Plus, I love musical theatre, so getting to hear the show twice was awesome!

Below are some of my favorite moments from the show.  If they get picked up by any of the theatre websites, I'll post those links here, too.

African Bride Magazine

What a thrill to walk into Barnes and Noble, head over to the bridal section, and purchase copies of a magazine which published an eight page spread of my images!  When I had an image published in OK!, it was great; I loved seeing it on every newsstand, knowing I had an image inside.  But you had to hunt for it-and once you found it, you had to squint to read my name.  But this has eight beautiful pages with eight beautiful women that I had the pleasure of photographing.  This was probably the most fun I've had on a shoot, so I'm thrilled to show you my favorites:

Alex Manenkoff: Strippin' Down To His Male Basics

My e-friends at Male Basics sent me a package with some great samples.  And thanks to the wonders of the internet, I was able to get a great model who just happened to be available the very next day.  Here's my new favorite model, Alex Manekoff, for Male Basics underwear!
*keep your eye on this guy...he's just getting started, and he's gonna be grabbin' the world by the balls in no time!

Alex Manenkoff for Artillery4Men

The generous folks at Artillery4Men were kind enough to send me some samples to shoot, and Alex Manenkoff was kind enough to respond to my ad!  I posted a casting online and got a response from a guy who has only in town for a couple more days but wanted to shoot if we could make it work.  He sent me a couple pics, and I knew he'd be a great fit, so magically, our schedules lined up the afternoon before he was to leave NYC to head back to school.  So here is Alex Manenkoff for Artillery 4 Men.  We were able to get a lot more images which will be up here soon!

Chad Sapp for Bunker 4 Men

I shot with Chad about a year ago, so when I posted a new casting for Bunker 4 Men, I was thrilled when he replied.  And what's even better, is he responded to my Craigslist post, so he didn't even know he was submitting to me.  So I received an e-mail from a male model ready to work, and he included some images from his portfolio, including a couple I took.  I love knowing that the models I shoot with actually use the images we make together!

As I mentioned before, the folks at Bunker 4 Men were more than generous to me, so I've loved capturing some great images for them.

Enjoy!
